Job Overview

Slough Borough Council is seeking Grounds Maintenance Operatives to support outdoor maintenance works across the borough.

The role will involve practical grounds maintenance and outdoor manual work, including grass cutting, strimming, hedge and shrub maintenance, weeding, planting, leaf clearance, litter picking and keeping outdoor areas clean, safe and presentable.

Candidates should have previous experience in gardening, landscaping, grounds maintenance or similar outdoor work. The role will involve using tools and grounds-maintenance machinery safely, working to schedules and deadlines, working as part of a team and sometimes working independently.

This is a Grounds Maintenance Operative / Outdoor Manual Labour role.

Candidates must be comfortable carrying out physically demanding outdoor work in different weather conditions.

The role requires experience or confidence with grass cutting, strimming, hedge and shrub maintenance, weeding, planting, litter picking, leaf clearance and general grounds maintenance duties.

Candidates must be able to use tools and machinery safely and carry out basic checks or maintenance of grounds-maintenance equipment where required.

Candidates must be reliable, physically fit, able to follow instructions, work to schedules and deadlines, and work both as part of a team and independently.

Essential Experience & Skills
