Working Pattern

Shifts vary depending on service demand and staff availability:

  • 08:00 – 16:00

  • 09:00 – 17:00

  • 10:00 – 18:00

Flexibility to rotate shifts is required.

Job Overview

Haringey Council is seeking enthusiastic and resilient Customer Service Officers to join its busy Customer Services Contact Centre.

This is a fast-paced frontline role supporting residents through telephone, digital and face-to-face channels. You will handle a high volume of enquiries daily and play a vital role in delivering responsive, professional and high-quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle high volumes of inbound calls and enquiries

  • Provide accurate advice across multiple council services

  • Log, action and resolve enquiries using internal IT systems

  • Deliver excellent customer service in line with council values

  • Respond to complex or sensitive enquiries professionally

  • Support face-to-face and reception services when required

  • Promote digital self-service and channel shift

  • Maintain accurate records and data

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Strong customer service experience in a contact centre or public-facing environment

  • Ability to manage high call volumes and work to performance targets

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise

  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

  • Good IT literacy including use of CRM or case management systems

  • Ability to work flexible shift patterns
