Pay Rate: £24.24 per hour

Job Overview

The London Borough of Islington is seeking an experienced Estate Services Coordinator (PO1) to lead and manage estate-based services across a designated area.

This is a predominantly site-based leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality frontline estate services, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The post holder will oversee operational performance, manage complex customer issues, and drive service improvement across estate services functions.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Service Delivery

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of estate services across a defined geographical area

  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety and environmental maintenance

  • Monitor performance and ensure service targets are met

  • Address complex operational issues and service failures

Staff Management & Leadership

  • Manage and supervise a diverse frontline workforce

  • Address sickness absence, performance issues and conduct matters

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to ensure effective service delivery

  • Allocate resources effectively across estates

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including Fire Safety requirements

  • Conduct inspections and ensure statutory standards are maintained

  • Take corrective action where necessary

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Deliver a responsive, customer-focused service to residents

  • Handle complaints, disputes and service concerns

  • Liaise with housing management, contractors and other council departments

Performance & Reporting

  • Monitor KPIs and service standards

  • Provide accurate reporting and management information

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Considerable experience of staff management in an operational environment

  • Proven ability to supervise and direct frontline service teams

  • Experience managing sickness, performance and disciplinary matters

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and Fire Safety requirements

  • Experience delivering services directly to the public and resolving complex issues

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to manage services across multiple sites
