Job Overview
Liverpool City Council is seeking a Senior Business Support Officer to provide administrative and operational support to the Risk & Insurance Team.
The role will involve accurately processing insurance claims data, updating a claims management system, coordinating information, supporting tender-related documentation and helping ensure records, files and logs are maintained for compliance and audit purposes.
The successful candidate will need strong administration skills, excellent attention to detail, experience using data entry or case management systems, the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and confidence communicating with internal teams, insurers and external stakeholders.

This is a Senior Business Support Officer role supporting a Risk & Insurance Team.
Candidates must be confident handling detailed administrative work, processing claims or structured data, maintaining accurate records, supporting compliance-driven tasks and preparing documentation.
Insurance claims, renewals, broker submissions or tender administration experience would be desirable, but strong administration, data accuracy and stakeholder communication skills are essential.
Candidates without strong administrative, data entry, case management, record keeping or stakeholder communication experience are unlikely to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Risk & Insurance Team
- Input insurance claims data into the claims management system
- Update and maintain accurate claims records
- Coordinate claims data and case management information
- Gather and organise documentation for insurance tenders
- Prepare documents for insurance renewals
- Support broker submissions
- Track claim progress and outstanding actions
- Follow up on missing or incomplete information
- Support communication between internal departments, insurers and external stakeholders
- Produce routine reports on claims activity
- Produce reports on claim trends and outstanding actions
- Maintain organised records, files and logs
- Support compliance and audit requirements
- Provide general administrative support to the team
- Schedule meetings or tasks where required
- Update case management records
- Prepare documents and correspondence
- Handle confidential or time-sensitive information professionally
- Work in a structured and methodical way
- Support the Risk & Insurance Officer proactively during busy periods

Interview will be held online.
The interview will be a single-stage, 30-minute conversation focused on experience, working style and suitability for supporting a Risk & Insurance Team with claims administration and tender-related tasks.
Candidates should be prepared to discuss administration, data entry, stakeholder communication, attention to detail, workload management and handling confidential or time-sensitive information.
